Investigation of the Canton Insane Asylum
Canton closes due to abuse of patients and deplorable conditions. The Office of Indian Affairs seeks other facilities near Indian communities in which to place the mentally ill, but the remaining patients are sent to an insane asylum in Washington, D.C.
